GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology at Eastern Michigan University offers premiere cybersecurity education

In a highly digitally-connected world, it is important to have the skills to protect data and defend against cyber attacks. Students studying cybersecurity at the GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology at Eastern Michigan University know how to do just that.

Eastern's STEM-based cybersecurity programs give students the knowledge and skills to build, maintain and protect networks and computer systems and excel in careers like computer forensics analyst, security software developer, information security analyst, security administrator and more.

Eastern Michigan is one of only three public universities in the state of Michigan to be nationally recognized by the National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security.

"This designation is a very important step for Eastern Michigan University," said Mohamed Qatu, dean of the GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology at EMU. "Sustaining and maintaining a robust curriculum is extremely important for us in order to produce highly skilled and much sought after cybersecurity professionals."

Eastern Michigan University's GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology offers three rigorous programs for undergraduate and graduate students.

The Master of Science in Cybersecurity is designed to meet the needs of research-oriented students and offers thesis and project-based tracks that will equip cybersecurity professionals to serve as leaders and information assurance research scientists.

The Information Assurance and Cyber Defense undergraduate degree focuses on design, integration, administration, and protection of all types of computer information systems.This undergraduate degree is offered both online or on campus.

The Information Assurance Compliance minor teaches students to understand cyber laws and policies while simultaneously learning risk analysis.

Cybersecurity jobs are among the fastest growing in the United States. The GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology at Eastern Michigan University has a nearly 100 percent job placement rate among its cyberscurity program graduates – who have launched careers at organizations such as Snapchat, Google, Amazon, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the U.S. National Security Agency.

With no signs of slowing down, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects employment in this field to grow 32 percent through 2028, which is much faster than the average for all occupations.
