Daemen University

The Daemen College Physician Assistant Program provides its students with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver the best quality medical care to diverse patient populations.

Known as Western New York's premier health sciences educator, Daemen prepares its PA graduates to become essential providers in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals and specialized facilities. They also play a vital role in surgery, family practice, pediatric medicine, and emergency medicine.

The quality of Daemen's program is evident through the success of its graduates, who collectively have a 97 percent first-attempt pass rate on the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

The program, accredited by the Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), is offered as a stand-alone Master of Science degree, as well as part of a bachelor's and master's dual-degree track.

Unique Dual Degree

Students on Daemen's dual-degree program can earn both a Bachelor of Science in health science and a master's in physician assistant studies in just five years.

Upon entering the program as undergraduates, students are guaranteed placement in the college's prestigious physician assistant graduate program, pending completion of all necessary bachelor's degree requirements.

Hands-on Opportunities

  • Daemen PA students have access to a range of clinical experiences thanks to the college's extensive network of partnerships with hundreds of healthcare providers across New York State;
  • Daemen students work with the program's clinical coordinator to select clerkships that best suit individual interests and goals;
  • Students also have access to a human cadaver lab taught by a full-time anatomist on campus;
  • The Center for Interprofessional Learning and Simulation (CILS) at Daemen provides students with experiential learning opportunities to promote best practices and collaborative approaches that lead to improved health and wellbeing outcomes for individuals and communities.

Learning through Service

Daemen's PA program uniquely focuses on service-learning opportunities to enhance the level of hands-on experiences students gain before entering the field of healthcare as professionals.

A World of Opportunity

Daemen's PA students also benefit from an innovative curriculum that builds upon and reinforces their intellectual qualities through study of the liberal arts, social, and natural science.

In addition, students learn from faculty who actively practice in their areas of medicine – preparing graduates to not only succeed as professionals in their field, but also become leaders to create positive change and better healthcare outcomes.
