Jake Paul Mocked For Claiming Brother Logan Defeated Floyd Mayweather

Jake Paul landed on the receiving end of relentless mockery on Sunday night, after claiming his brother Logan had defeated Floyd Mayweather in their boxing bout.

After much anticipation, Logan, 26, and Mayweather, 44, climbed into the ring at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium to do battle in an eight-round exhibition fight.

And as the pay-per-view event reached its conclusion—with no winner announced, per exhibition rules—Jake, 24, took to Twitter to declare his sibling the victor.

Seemingly amazed by his own declaration, Jake updated Mayweather's undefeated professional record as he wrote: "50-1... HOLY F**K... MY BROTHER JUST BEAT FLOYD MAYWEATHER."

Responses challenging his assertion came in thick and fast on the micro-blogging platform, as boxing fans reacted in disbelief.

"Bro Floyd outlanded him 2x despite Floyd throwing half as many punches," said @JakeAndHoops.

"Bruh why are you lying like we didn't just watch the fight," challenged @jasiaxx_.

@Asensii20 responded to Jake: "Lol your brother lost and Floyd wasnt trying."

Sharing a snap of SpongeBob staring at a phone screen in apparent exasperation, @Taziffyy wrote: "Me and when Jake Paul said Logan Beat Mayweather."

A number of Twitter users also responded by sharing screenshots of Mayweather landing punches on Logan, to prove their argument that his brother did not win the fight.

However, @numbchuck9 was of the opinion that Logan simply making it to the end of the fight counted as a win, writing: "Logan standing after 8 kinda makes it an automatic win.

"Floyd actually underestimated him that is insane just in itself. There is no way possible Floyd didn't intend to TKO Logan before 8."

In video shared on social media, Jake was seen excitedly cheering his brother on in the final seconds of the fight.

"You're winning,' a hoarse Jake yelled. "Thirty seconds for the rest of your life. That's your f**king career—50 and 1! F**k all of you!"

Before facing off against Mayweather, Logan had only fought fellow YouTuber-turned-fighter KSI, to whom he lost in a rematch following a draw.

In a post-fight press conference on Sunday night, Logan said: "It's one of the greatest moments of my life. I'm happy to have made it out."

However, Jake was seen telling his brother that he was "being too humble" in his assessment of the fight, assuring his brother that he "wobbled" the undefeated pugilist.

The bout—which was aired on Showtime as a pay-per-view event—proved to be a lucrative affair, with Mayweather previously estimating he would make between $50 million and $100 million for his participation in the fight.

His opponent Logan, meanwhile, was guaranteed $250,000, plus a 10 percent cut of the pay-per-view earnings.

With no knockouts or particularly explosive moments, a number of viewers took to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction with the fight, which cost $49.99 to view.
