James Comey's 'A Higher Loyalty' Book Release Date: When, Where You Can Get a Copy

The memoir from former FBI Director James Comey is set to be released Tuesday.  Bookstores across the U.S. have ordered extra copies of “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership,” as people clamor to read Comey’s story about Donald Trump and his dismissal as head of the FBI.

Pre-orders of the book have already pushed the book to number one on Amazon’s and Barnes & Noble’s bestseller list.

To purchase a copy of the book, you can head to your local bookstore Tuesday, and pick up a copy until the book is physically sold out. Many bookstores are ordering more than the usual amount of copies of the book, anticipating demand.

The book can also be pre-ordered online. In some areas, a hard copy can be ordered from Amazon that will be delivered on the day of the book’s release, April 17. Digital copies should be available on the Amazon Kindle e-reader as soon as the book is released, but according to Amazon’s tech support, it may take longer depending on the demand of people downloading the book.

The book is available for pre-order on Barnes & Noble, but delivery of the physical copy could take up to two days with expedited delivery. The e-book for Nook should also be available as soon as the book is released, but tech support advises that it may take a few hours.

Full copies and excerpts of the book have already made their way into the hands of journalists. The leaks were bad enough that the printer, Flatiron Books, an imprint of Macmillan Publishers lifted a media embargo about speaking of the books, according to CNN. The New York Times has even released their book review already.

The book is reportedly very critical of Trump and takes him to task for the way he’s handled himself as president.

Comey is doing a media blitz to accompany the release of the book beginning with an ABC interview Sunday.
