Fans Shocked at Video of James Corden and Justin Bieber Not Really Driving in Carpool Karaoke
A Twitter user shared a video of James Corden filming his famous Carpool Karaoke segment with Justin Bieber—and fans were shocked to find out Corden wasn't really driving.
The video was posted by Twitter user @ZoliHoning, who said: "Saw James Corden and Justin Bieber filming carpool karaoke and this is why I have trust issues — he isn't even driving!" depicted Corden and Bieber sitting in a car that was being towed by a truck. At the time of writing, the original tweet has more than 200,000 likes and more than 60,000 retweets.
Carpool Karaoke is a segment of The Late Late Show with James Corden, which sees Corden pick up a musician or band and "drive" them around Los Angeles while singing songs by the famous passenger.

However, the video shared on Twitter would suggest that they're not really driving at all. @ZoliHoning replied to his own tweet and said: "Next thing you know they gonna tell us that his friends don't *actually* need a ride."
The towing set up was confirmed by Twitter user @avrumim who shared their own photo of Corden and Bieber and said: "Lol I saw it too."

Fans were shocked to discover the behind-the-scenes clip, with Twitter user @smoljungkookbun tweeting: "My whole life has been a lie."
Twitter user @TomlinBucks said: "the fact that James Corden doesn't actually drive during carpool karaoke must be the biggest lie since we found out that Zac Efron didn't sing when he played Troy Bolton" (in High School Musical).
Reacting to the video, twitter user @sueannajoe_ suggested: "It should be carpull karaoke."
Some fans were not surprised to find out Corden doesn't really drive during these clips. Responding to a tweet asking "Is this really how they film it," Twitter user @KeiynanSam said: "Of course. All movies [and] music videos film like this. That way you don't have a distracted driver on the road being dangerous. Safety first!"
However, some fans are insisting that Corden usually drives, and this set up is a one-off. Firstly, @nikkitbfh posted a photograph and said: "Y'all when I saw One Direction filming Carpool Karaoke James was actually driving."

Another user shared a YouTube video showing Corden actually driving with Madonna.
Shawna Malcom, a publicist for The Late Late Show, told Newsweek: "James always drives during 'Carpool Karaoke.' However, on the rare occasion when there is a stunt component and the producers feel it is unsafe to drive, we will use a rig (tow)."
So it appears that Corden does typically drive his guests around and perhaps fans have something special involving a stunt to look forward to in Bieber's Carpool Karaoke segment.
On Wednesday, Corden teased his Instagram followers with a photo of Bieber kissing his cheek, alongside the caption "Big day @justinbieber". Fans on Instagram were guessing the photo meant Bieber would be starring in an upcoming Carpool Karaoke and the video and photos shared on Twitter seem to confirm it.
Previous guests on Corden's Carpool Karaoke include Lady Gaga, Adele, Billie Eilish, Jonas Brothers, Ed Sheeran, Paul McCartney, Celine Dion, Chance the Rapper, Ariana Grande, Cardi B, Sia, Michael Buble, Adam Levine, Harry Styles, Selena Gomez, P!nk, Bruno Mars, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, Sam Smith, Chris Martin, Rod Stewart, A$AP Rocky, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Corden recently joined Kanye West on a private plane filled with members of West's Sunday Service Collective for a special edition of Carpool Karaoke.
