David Schwimmer Hugs Jennifer Aniston in Backstage 'Friends' Reunion Photos

Two weeks on from Friends: The Reunion airing, enthusiasm for the classic sitcom shows no signs of dying down anytime soon.

David Schwimmer dutifully stepped in to quench the seemingly insatiable thirst of Friends fans on Monday, when he shared a set of behind-the-scenes snapshots from the reunion.

The actor, 54, took to Instagram to share the images, which showed him posing with his co-stars and sharing a "last hug of the night" with Jennifer Aniston, following a "very long day" of shooting.

Other snaps showed him smiling alongside Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry as they posed with reunion director Ben Winston on the Warner Bros. lot, where the special was filmed.

The cast members were also seen sitting down for a table read and chatting with James Corden, who presented the HBO Max one-off.

Captioning the images—which he titled "Reunion Snaps Part Two"—he listed explanations for each picture, writing: "1. Our Reunion Director & EP, the inspired and crazy talented @mrbenwinston...

"2. Table read... 3. On the couch with the best possible host we could have asked for, Mr. James Corden... 4. Unexpected reunion with our brilliant and big hearted 1st AD! Thanks for all those years @benweiss7...

"5. Cast huddle right before the live Reunion audience... 6. After a very long day, last hug of the night... Thank you @hbomax for bringing us back together..."

During the special, Schwimmer and Aniston—whose respective characters Ross Geller and Rachel Green dated on and off during the show—confessed to once harboring real-life crushes on each other.

The stars admitted that their feelings remained unfulfilled, as the timings of their romances with other people forced them to keep things platonic.

"The first season I had a major crush on Jen," Schwimmer said. "And I think we both, at some point, were crushing hard on each other but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary. We respected that."

Agreeing with Schwimmer's statement, Aniston went on to reveal that their first kiss happened onscreen during season 2 episode "The One Where Ross Finds Out."

She said: "I remember saying at one point to David, 'It's going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is gonna be on national television!' Sure enough, the first time we kissed was in that coffee shop.

"So we just channeled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel."

The cast reunited for the special 17 years after their beloved sitcom came to an end in 2004, following a hugely successful decade-long run.

A host of celebrity guest stars were on hand for the reunion, including Reese Witherspoon, Tom Selleck, Lady Gaga, Cindy Crawford, David Beckham, Justin Bieber, and Game of Thrones' Kit Harington.
