'Jeopardy!' Host Alex Trebek Is Selling His California Lakeside Home for $1.39 Million

Leisurely fishing enthusiasts lookout, Jeopardy! host, Alex Trebek is selling his lakeside home in Paso Robles, California, for $1.39 million. The post also notes this as a "just reduced" price point.

According to the Zillow listing and the San Luis Tribune, Trebek's abode comes with 30-acres of land. The house is supposedly perfect for a small family as it's in close proximity to the highly rated, San Luis elementary school and listed as big enough for a single family.

While the purchase will grant buyers access to 30-acres of land, the physical home spans 2,595-square-foot and will be fully furnished. Trebek only plans to remove art and personal possessions. Supposedly, buyers will still gain a Jet Ski, Sea-Doo and a pair of Honda ATVs previously used by Trebek. He does not seem to consider any of the watercrafts to be personal items.

Buyers can utilize any of Trebek's left-behind watercrafts by using a private ramp that grants direct passage to nearby Lake Nacimiento. In addition to the ramp, the house also has a private dock for if the owner decides to purchase additional watercrafts.

The main home features three bedrooms and two bathrooms. In addition to the 2,595-foot home, the property also includes a smaller, 1500 square foot metal building, complete with two metal doors and a bathroom.

The land and the home's aesthetic have personally been developed by Trebek, a known handyman, over the last handful of years. The host detailed his home improvement hobby in a 2017 Business Insider profile, describing himself as having a "brown thumb."

Trebek regularly completes demolition type work. When asked what kind of manual labor he often completes Trebek replied, "Electrical, plumbing, drywall, demolition, carpentry, painting." Trebek does it all.

Trebek, 78, has been the host of Jeopardy since the show went into syndication in 1984. During his tenure as host, the show has been nominated for the Emmy for Best Game Show a total of 36 times, more than any of their contemporaries. They also hold the record for Most Best Game Show Emmy wins, with 16 total Emmys under the quiz show's belt.

Trebek recently wrapped up filming for Jeopardy's 35th season. He is expected to return in the Fall for Jeopardy! season 36. Fans were concerned about Trebek's return after revealing in March he had Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
