Video of Joe Biden Making '54 States' Gaffe Goes Viral

President Joe Biden's latest speech blunder has gone viral over the weekend and has been viewed more than 1.7 million times on Twitter.

Biden made the gaffe during a speech at a Democratic campaign event in Pennsylvania for John Fetterman on Friday.

Biden mistakenly said there were 54 U.S. States when speaking about the Affordable Care Act, when there are only 50 states.

A video of this moment began circulating on social media and one of the videos was posted by the RNC Research Twitter page, which is managed by the Republican National Committee.

The page has regularly shined a light on the blunders of the president, often remarking that he is unfit to lead.

During the speech, Biden said: "And, of course, [the Republicans are] going to try for the 499th time, or whatever the number is.

"They're still determined to eliminate the Affordable Care Act.

"And, by the way, if they do that means, not a joke everybody, that's why we defeated it in 2018 when they tried to do it. We went to 54 states.

"The reason is people didn't realize that the only reason anybody who has a pre-existing condition can get healthcare is because of that Affordable Care Act."

Some social media users were quick to latch on to Biden's latest blunder and criticize the president.

"Joe Biden now says there are 54 states," Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert tweeted:

"I guess if you count the states of denial, confusion, delusion and disaster that his Regime has caused he just might be on to something."

"Joe Biden said he's been to 54 states. Jesus Help us all," comedian and commentator Terrence K. Williams wrote as he shared the clip.

"Biden: We went through 54 states. The inflation is so bad that 50 states have turned into 54 states," tech entrepreneur Eli David added.

"Biden thinks there are 54 states and you think Biden is doing a great job.

"I don't think you know what you're talking about," former Donald Trump campaign intern Angelo Ray Gomez tweeted.

"Joe Biden apparently think that there are 54 states. This guy is completely senile," conservative activist Ryan Fournier tweeted

The White House has previously defended Biden and his gaffes during his speeches, as well as his ability to lead. They have insisted he has been checked by physicians regarding his mental well-being.

In November 2021, White House physician Dr. Kevin O'Connor wrote in a memo and concluded that Biden remained a "healthy, vigorous 78-year-old male who is fit to successfully execute the duties of the presidency."

Newsweek has contacted the White House for comment.
