Joe Biden Will Meet Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle on U.K. Visit

Joe Biden will have his first meeting with Queen Elizabeth II since becoming president at Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace confirmed.

The President and first lady Jill Biden will visit the historic royal landmark—also the scene of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding—on June 13.

The meeting will take place on his last day in the U.K. for the G7 summit in Cornwall, from June 11 to June 13.

He then flies to Brussels, in Belgium, for a NATO summit the following day.

He will then meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Switzerland on June 16 during his first official overseas tour since entering the White House.

A Buckingham Palace statement read: "The Queen will meet the President of the United States of America and First Lady Jill Biden at Windsor Castle on Sunday, 13th June 2021."

Elizabeth has based herself at Windsor Castle during the pandemic, self-isolating for much of the last year with a scaled-down staff.

Windsor Castle's St George's Chapel was the venue for both Prince Philip's funeral in April and, in May 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding.
