What To Know
Police in Tampa arrested Addison on probable cause trespassing at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at 3:46 a.m. on January 12, according to Sports Illustrated.
Records from Hillsborough County Jail show that he was booked at 7:33 a.m. and released at 2:40 p.m. after posting $500 bond. The arrest was made by Seminole Indian Police, according to the report.
Addison was charged with first-degree misdemeanor trespassing in an occupied structure or conveyance, court records show.
The Vikings organization acknowledged the incident but said it was still gathering facts. Addison's legal counsel has not commented publicly.
Who Is Jordan Addison?
Addison is a wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings, drafted 23rd overall out of the University of Southern California in 2023.
He quickly became a key piece of the Vikings' offense, making an immediate impact during his rookie season. However, Addison has also drawn attention off the field for multiple legal and team discipline issues, the Minnesota Star Tribune reported.
Addison is from the Washington, D.C., area and attended high school at Tuscarora High School in Frederick, Maryland, before playing college football at the University of Pittsburgh and then transferring to the University of Southern California.
Jordan Addison Arrest Record: What We Know
Addison's arrest in Florida followed other legal problems. In July 2024, he was arrested on DUI charges in Los Angeles after police found him asleep in a Rolls-Royce blocking traffic. Addison pleaded not guilty to the initial charges before ultimately entering a plea to a lesser offense and receiving a three-game suspension from the NFL.
In July 2023, months after entering the league and before the start of his rookie season, he was cited for speeding at 140 mph in a 55-mph zone on Interstate 94 in St. Paul, Minnesota, Sports Illustrated reported. He pleaded guilty, was fined $686 and had his driver's license suspended for six months, USA TODAY reported.
Addison was benched for one quarter after missing a team walkthrough in October, with head coach Kevin O'Connell citing organizational standards as the reason, according to the outlet.
What People Are Saying
Kevin O'Connell, Vikings head coach, during a press conference Tuesday, according to Sports Illustrated: “I just learned about that very, very recently, so I don't want to speculate on that in any way, shape, or form. We gotta get as many facts and find out exactly what happened. Speculating at this point would be incredibly premature for me.”
Younger & Associates, Addison’s legal counsel, in a statement following his 2024 DUI case, according to Sports Illustrated: “Over the past year, he voluntarily participated in MADD events and programs and, after reflection, decided to enter this plea understanding the ramifications of this decision. He has kept the organization apprised throughout these legal proceedings, and will continue in his full commitment to being a valuable member of his team.”
What Happens Next
Addison’s next court date for the Florida misdemeanor charge had not been announced.
The Vikings said they are gathering facts before making any further comment or taking disciplinary action. Addison’s status with the team and potential league penalties remain uncertain, pending the outcome of the legal process.
