Liverpool's last purchase from Inter Milan, Philippe Coutinho, continues to pay off handsomely for the English Premier League club.

Now it seems manager Jurgen Klopp could be set to do business with the Serie A giant again in the January transfer window. According to the Liverpool Echo, Klopp and Liverpool have "sounded out" Inter over a move for midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.

Capped five times by France, 23-year-old Kondogbia has long been rated as one of European football's top midfield prospects.

Though Klopp would appear to be well stocked with midfielders, he needs greater depth to his squad, as demonstrated by the recent absence through injury of Jordan Henderson.

Inter would hope to recoup most, if not all, of the £22.1 million ($27.1 million) it paid for Kondogbia from Monaco in 2015.
