Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, delighted the world in fashion-forward maternity wear during of her previous two pregnancies. And it appears her third will be no different.

On Friday, Middleton wore an ice blue, crystal-covered gown to a benefit event, and it instantly set social media into overdrive. Middleton's gown was only visible in the short walk into London's Palladium Theater. But photographers snapped several photos, and the images were immediately analyzed on Twitter by hundreds of curious fans. Many of them believe the dress comes from London designer Jenny Packham's Fall 2017 line.

As for the rest of her ensemble, a style blog dedicated solely to Middleton's wardrobe claimed her clutch bag is from Jenny Packham as well, while her pumps are Oscar de la Renta.

Middleton's latest fashion moment occurred at the Royal Variety Performance, a televised fundraiser for the Royal Variety Charity, which provides aid to those who have served the entertainment industry in the United Kingdom. This year's special was hosted by comedian Miranda Hart (Call the Midwife) and featured performances from James Blunt and Seal.

The media frenzy surrounding Middleton has led to what British tabloids call the "Kate Middleton effect." The duchess dons a certain designer's work in public, and the item sells out across the country. That means if Middleton's crystal blue dress is from Packham's line, Packham may be about to experience a surge in British women demanding they own Middleton's look.

That's exactly what happened in 2014. For a winter appearance in New York City, Middleton wore a hot pink Mulberry overcoat that took the fashion world by storm. Women's magazines around the world ran photos of the £1,500 coat, which sold out within days. Each time Middleton re-wore the coat, it made headlines and Mulberry's sales soared.
