Kellyanne Conway Touts Donald Trump's 500 Days of 'American Greatness,' Bashes Obama and Clinton

Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway praised President Donald Trump for "American greatness" in light of his 500th day in office on June 4, while also taking shots at his predecessors Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.

Conway told The Daily Caller on Sunday that Trump's accomplishments in 500 days, released by the White House Monday, demonstrate that "America is back" and serve "to remind everybody of the sheer velocity and volume" that has marked his tenure so far.

"People are more prosperous, they're more secure, the country is more respected on the world stage," Conway told the conservative website. "Everything from the consumer confidence among small business owners, manufacturers, consumers, major employers in this country, is up."

Conway also denied that Trump's "Make America Great Again" motto is aimed at undoing Obama's policies and legacies, as it has appeared.

"One thing I noted recently to someone is how infrequently President Obama's name is mentioned during our workday," she said. "It's not so much that we say, 'Oh, let's get rid of what President Obama was doing,' it's more, what do we do for the 30 million Americans who have no health insurance, who were promised and lied to that you could keep your doctor and keep your coverage."

Conway on Fox News Monday went after former President Bill Clinton for stating the previous day that the media treated Obama in a more friendly manner than they did other presidents, because he was the first black commander-in-chief.

"They still just talk about themselves all the time," Conway said of Clinton and Obama. "I'd like to hear from them on our 500th day of American greatness."

Trump touted what he considers his accomplishments and struck up a comparison with his predecessors on Monday.

"This is my 500th. Day in Office and we have accomplished a lot - many believe more than any President in his first 500 days," Trump tweeted. "Massive Tax & Regulation Cuts, Military & Vets, Lower Crime & Illegal Immigration, Stronger Borders, Judgeships, Best Economy & Jobs EVER, and much more..."

Trump has signed major tax cuts, confirmed a conservative Supreme Court justice and has taken a hard line approach to illegal immigration, reversing some of Obama's work. Meanwhile, he has failed to advance an infrastructure plan and, while the economy is doing well, the national debt has also increased under his watch.
