'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Star Kenya Moore to Return for Season 12 and Fans Are Ready for the Drama

Heavy winds are expected to blow over Atlanta in the very near future, and it will likely cause plenty of destruction to those Georgia peaches. No—this isn't a weather report, it's just Kenya Moore making her grand return to Real Housewives of Atlanta. Yes, the "Gone With the Wind fabulous" twirl-queen is claiming her spot on the reality show for Season 12, according to a People report on Wednesday.

Moore, who first joined the cast for Season 5 in 2013, appeared on the show as a full-time cast member for five seasons before she departed after Season 10. Her final season on the show was shrouded in drama, however, most of it stemmed from her off-camera life, including her secret marriage to husband Marc Daly, which fans (and producers) only found out about after the couple eloped in June 2017.

A lackluster storyline brought the Detroit native heavy criticism from unhappy fans. That, in addition to contract disagreements, ultimately led to Moore's decision to not return for Season 11. Instead, the Miss America beauty queen focused on her personal family journey, which included a rather complicated pregnancy and many health scares, away from reality cameras.

Now as a new mother—her daughter Brooklyn Daly was born in November—Moore is ready to put her life back on the small screen. Although it is unclear how much camera time her home life with Marc Daly and their newborn child will receive during the upcoming season.

Nonetheless, fans can certainly expect Moore to dredge up her old pot-stirring antics. Moore is notorious for causing drama amongst the RHOA cast. While her showdowns with housewives like Porsha Williams and Shereé Whitfield thrust her into the limelight on previous seasons, it's her conflict with original RHOA star NeNe Leakes that fans are eager to see play out on the upcoming season.

Despite being off the show for Season 11, Moore still managed to stir up some drama between Leakes and her on-again, off-again friend Cynthia Bailey during the season finale episode. Brought in by Bailey, Moore appeared as a guest on the finale episode. Her minor appearance drew the ire of Leakes, with whom Moore has always had a particularly tumultuous relationship, and caused strife in Leakes and Bailey's already-deteriorating friendship.

Both Leakes and Bailey are expected to return to RHOA for Season 12 along with Kandi Burruss. It's unclear if Season 11 cast members Eva Marcille, Shamari DeVoe and Williams will return as of yet.

No premiere date for Season 12 of RHOA has been released yet, but the show is slated to return before the end of the year, according to People.
