Kid Rock Blasted For Shouting Homophobic Slur in Tennessee Bar

Kid Rock is facing heavy criticism after being filmed shouting a homophobic slur at a concert in Tennessee.

The singer appears to angrily a member of the audience using their cell phones to record the gig "f****** f******," in bleeped footage published by TMZ.

The country-rock rapper, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, was reportedly performing on Saturday night at a bar called FishLips Resort & Grill in Smithville when he became annoyed at being recorded.

He tells the spectators "F*** your iPhone" and then says "you can post this" while gesturing to his crotch area.

"You f****** f******with your phones," he adds before the video ends.

Ritchie is now facing backlash online for using the f-word slur as many Twitter users blast him for homophobia.

Newsweek has reached out to his representatives for comment.

"I, for one, am shocked that noted LGBTQ ally Kid Rock would say something homophobic," tweeted activist Charlotte Clymer.

Kid Rock has found himself in proverbial hot water before over offensive comments.

Back in 2018, he was stripped of his right to be grand marshal of the Nashville Christmas parade after calling television host Joy Behar a "b****."

While in 2015 he defended his right to use the word "gay" as a pejorative, telling The Guardian at the time: "Rap-rock was what people wanted at the time, and they still love those songs at shows.

"But it turned into a lot of b******* and it turned out to be pretty gay... If someone says you can't say 'gay' like that you tell them to go f*** themselves. You're not going to get anything politically correct out of me."
