The same day that news broke about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrating the birth of their son, rumors spread that the king and queen of Calabasas had welcomed a child too. Shortly after, Kim Kardashian West denied that she and husband, Kanye West, had their child via surrogate Monday.

"Wait just saw news our baby boy came but that's not true! It's Met Monday, I'm in NYC. I would be at the hospital lol," she tweeted Monday afternoon, just hours before she was expected on the red carpet.

Before Kardashian West shut down the rumors on social media, users were debating whether she would still attend the gala even if her new baby had arrived. Some thought she would still be there, while others thought she'd be with her newborn. Kardashian West cleared the air by assuring her followers she would be at the hospital with the surrogate if her son actually had been born.

Earlier in the day, Kardashian West posted a photo of an iMessage from Kanye that said, "This is your life, Married with four kids." The message may have sparked rumors of the fourth child's arrival. Kim and Kanye's three children are named Saint, North and Chicago.

The Kardashian and Jenner sisters have cemented their place on the Met Gala red carpet in recent years as some of the event's most anticipated guests. Last week, Kardashian West posted photos and video of her outfit from last year's event.

It appeared that Kendall and Kylie Jenner were both in New York Monday, based on Instagram posts. Kardashian West also posted a photo of her in a makeup chair wishing luck to her team. She also tweeted a photo of her at her first Met Gala in 2013, when she was West's plus-one. She noted that she did her own lipstick, and it's still one of her favorite looks.

Kardashian West is also expected to hold an after-party Monday with Serena Williams, Travis Scott, Lala Anthony and Trevor Noah. She shared news of the soiree on social media.
