'Kingdom Hearts 3' Release Date Confirmed: January 2019

If you've been waiting for the Kingdom Hearts 3 release date, wait no more. Square Enix confirmed during the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra premiere in Los Angeles that the highly anticipated Disney fever dream drops January 29, 2019. Of course, longtime KH3 fans will likely retain a shred of doubt until the game is on store shelves given the long and rumor-laden road that led here. News of the Kingdom Hearts 3 release date broke on Twitter earlier this evening.

We first reported on the possibility of a KH3 release date reveal tonight back in May. While many anticipated a reveal during the Square Enix press event Monday, tonight's news means that fans should look forward to a substantial, detail-oriented presentation. This is going to build a considerable amount of hype and it's unlikely Squre Enix will waste it given the game's relatively polished state. Our own hands-on found the game to run flawlessly, and deliver the kind of stunning eye candy and unique franchise-driven aesthetics the game is known for.
