Vadim Vasilyev, the Monaco vice-president, says the club is determined to keep teenage striking sensation Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe, 18, was Manchester City's tormentor for the second successive game as the French league leader saw off the English Premier League club to make the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.

Our intention is to keep Mbappe," Vasilyev said in quotes reported by ESPN.

"Mbappe is a product of our youth academy. He is our DNA. I am very proud.

"We have a real team. The first half was excellent—the sort of performance that the very top teams make."

Mbappe, who has been linked with United among a host of top European clubs, struck from close range in the eighth minute at Stade Louis II as Monaco went through on away goals.
