Dog Boutique Employee Grabs Dog by the Neck, Throws It to the Ground in Distressing Video

An employee at a dog boutique in Los Angeles has been fired after a "horrific" video of her picking a dog by the neck and throwing it to the ground emerged.

The video, which was first posted on Twitch by user Royce Thomas and later obtained by KABC, shows the incident which occurred at the Bark n' Bitches Dog Boutique in Fairfax Avenue.

In the clip, several dogs are running around the store, with a few heard barking at each other. One dog then starts behaving aggressively towards a smaller pet.

The employee in question then picks up the larger dog, grabs it by the neck and throws across the concrete floor.

Other people in the store can be heard saying "Oh my god" after a thumping noise and small yelp can he heard as the dog hits the ground.

The thud is believed to have been the dog's head hitting the floor.

"The dog basically got launched from its head, and it was upside down in the air, and came down on its head," Thomas said.

A woman off-camera can then be heard shouting "no" repeatedly, which appears to be aimed towards the animals.

Warning: Some viewers may find this video distressing.

In a statement posted to social media, Bark n' Bitches admitted there was an "inexcusable incident" which occurred in the shop.

"We will not tolerate this or any actions that put our rescues in harms way. The appropriate actions are being taken. This is NOT what we stand for," said the statement.

"The dog was playing and acting normal after this horrific incident. She was taken to the vet and was cleared 100 percent," the statement added.

In a follow-up video posted on social media condemning the incident, Bark N' Bitches owner Shannon von Roemer said: "There was a horrific incident intolerable incident that happened at the shop this evening.

"First, I want to thank everybody who's reached out who's emailed us with their concerns, because it's definitely a big concern of mine also. Just want to let you know that we've been in business for almost 14 years and this is a first.

"I just want you to be rest assured that all actions will be taken to make sure that this doesn't happen again.

"I do want you to know that the employee is no longer with us and that the dog is actually doing fine and did go to the vet."

Von Roemer said if anyone has any further concerns or questions regarding the incident to email the store at shopbnb@gmail.com.
