Lara Trump Says Joe Biden 'Wouldn't Be President' If the Justice System Was Equal

Lara Trump, who is married to former President Donald Trump's second son Eric, said on Monday that if the U.S. "justice system was equal," Joe Biden would not be president and his son Hunter would be in prison.

The 38-year-old, who was previously a producer for Inside Edition and is now a contributor to Fox News, made the claim during an episode of Hannity on the network on Monday evening.

Lara Trump was speaking with host Sean Hannity about New York City prosecutors dropping looting and rioting charges, due to lack of evidence, against hundreds of protesters who had taken to the streets in the summer of 2020 in the wake of the Minneapolis police killing of George Floyd, according to NBC New York.

"Could you even imagine, if this was my husband, if it was done, if it was anybody with the last name Trump people would be going crazy," Lara Trump told Hannity.

"Because of Hunter Biden, nobody cares about it and let me just say this, what we see going on in New York City right now, they are not going after these people who clearly broke the law and first of all what kind of precedent does it cite? Go out and do whatever you want and nobody's going to be held accountable."

Lara Trump then turned her attention to her father-in-law, the former U.S. president, and said that if there was justice in the country then he would still be in the White House, while Joe Biden's son would be in prison.

"They are taking their time and taxpayer money to go after Donald Trump and it's very clear that they have one motive, Sean, to disqualify President Donald Trump from running again in 2024," she said on Monday in reference to the New York attorney general's office collaborating with the Manhattan district attorney in the latter's criminal inquiry into the Trump Organization.

"They do not care how many people they let off the hook and by the way a lot of the businesses that were broken into were local small businesses. How do they get by and what about this?

"It's absolutely disgusting to see and if the media had any integrity and the justice system was equal, then Joe Biden most certainly wouldn't be president of the United States and Hunter Biden most likely would be in jail."

The Trump family, most notably Donald Trump and his eldest son Donald Trump Jr, has repeatedly attacked Hunter Biden over his decision to accept a position on the board of Burisma Holdings, one of the Ukraine's largest private energy corporations, while his father was vice president.

Trump supporters have so far not found any evidence to support a claim that U.S. foreign policy was influenced by Hunter Biden's position in Ukraine.

Trump's claims about Hunter Biden surfaced in 2019, when details about a phone call between the former president and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ultimately led to his first impeachment trial.

During the call, Trump appeared to threaten withholding military aid to Ukraine if the country did not investigate Biden's son's employment at Burisma.

Several members of the Trump family have also claimed that Donald Trump won November 2020's presidential election against Joe Biden, making unsubstantiated claims of widespread voter fraud. There is no evidence of irregularities on a scale that would have changed the election outcome.

Newsweek has contacted Fox News and the White House for comment.
