At Least 8 Trump-Backed Republicans Likely to Win 2022 Elections–Bookmakers

Eight candidates for upcoming House of Representatives, Senate and gubernatorial elections in 2022 who have been endorsed by former President Donald Trump are favorites to win their respective elections, according to betting aggregator US-Bookies.com.

A US-Bookies spokesperson said that Chuck Grassley, endorsed by Trump, was the odds-on favorite to win the November 2022 Senate election in Iowa, at 1-6 odds. Grassley, who will be 89 years old next year, is running for reelection to an eighth term. He will be running in the Republican primary against Jim Carlin, while three Democrats face off.

Among other candidates Trump has endorsed, Greg Abbott, Herschel Walker and Ron Johnson, follow in a three-way tie with 1-5 odds to win their respective elections. Gov. Greg Abbott is favorite to win the 2022 Texas gubernatorial election, while Walker and Sen. Johnson are odds-on to win the Senate elections in Georgia and Wisconsin, respectively. Democrat Beto O'Rourke has 7-1 odds to win the Texas gubernatorial election.

Other gubernatorial candidates endorsed by Trump include Kari Lake and David Perdue, who are both odds-on to win in 2022. Lake is the 2-7 favorite to win in Arizona, and Perdue is the 7-10 favorite to win in Georgia. His Democratic challenger Stacey Abrams is a popular voting rights activist, who was credited for helping win turn the state from Republican to Democrat in the 2020 general election. Abrams has 3-1 odds, while Republican incumbent Brian Kemp has odds of 6-4.

"Stacey Abrams seems to have a lot of support from Democrats, as this will be her second time running for governor of the state," a US-Bookies spokesperson said. "However, she has a lot of ground to make up as the sole Democrat in the race right now, as Perdue and Kemp are making a tight race at the top of the bookies' lists."

In early December, Trump taunted Abrams after she announced her intention to run for Georgia governor in 2022. Abrams narrowly lost in the governor's race in 2018 to Kemp, who has not been backed by Trump.

Geoff Diehl, who is also endorsed by Trump, is at 14-1 to win the 2022 Massachusetts governor race.

The former Republican president also endorsed Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin to be Idaho's next governor, and she has 21-20 odds to win during the election on November 8, 2022. However, Gov. Brad Little is the current odds-on favorite, with 10-11 odds to win.

Adam Laxalt and Ted Budd, both Trump-endorsed candidates, are odds-on to win in 2022. Laxalt is the 3-10 favorite to win the Senate election in Nevada, and Ted Budd is the 1-2 favorite to win the Senate election in North Carolina. Mo Brooks, also endorsed by Trump, has even odds to win the Senate election in Alabama.
