Limited Edition 2022 BMW X5 Black Vermillion Debuts With Envelope-Pushing Looks

It certainly catches the eye. The new, limited edition 2022 BMW X5 Black Vermillion combines traditional two-row SUV looks with a striking new color palette and edition-exclusive equipment. It's based on the X5 xDrive40i, a base-grade version of the all-wheel drive model.
The black and red coloring of the X5 Black Vermillion are on full display starting up front where the BMW Shadowline high-gloss black kidney grille wears red vertical bars. A Frozen Black Metallic paint job washes over the car. Shadowline Adaptive Full LED headlights with Laserlight in its signature blue X design complete the face alongside aggressive front and rear bumpers and M high-gloss extended Shadowline exterior trim.
There are 22-inch double-spoke 724M light alloy wheels finished in Orbit Grey matte paint at all four corners. Red high-gloss M Sport brake calipers and an M Sport exhaust system complete the look.
BMW has added an adaptive M suspension to the car.
The company's designers went further, extending the black and red to the interior of the car. There, BMW Individual Full Merino Black leather upholstery with red piping and contrast stitching covers the front and rear seats. Red binding features on the car's front and rear floor mats. A Black Vermillion edition logo finished in BMW Individual Piano Black can be found on the cupholder cover.
A glass gear selector and start/stop button are prominently placed in the SUV as well as BMW Carbon Fiber trim. These features are typically not available on xDrive40i models.

An M Alcantara Anthracite headliner, Harman Kardon sound system, Parking Assistance Package, leather dashboard, heated steering wheel and multi-contour ventilated seats are standard.
BMW is allocating 350 of the units of the Spartanburg, South Carolina-made X5 Black Vermillion for the U.S. market. Production is scheduled for September to December 2021.
Pricing for the 2022 BMW xDrive40i starts at $82,300, more than $20,000 over the starting MSRP of the traditional xDrive40i SUV. There is an additional $995 charge for destination and delivery.
