Limited Edition Shelby F-150 Has 775 Horsepower, $107,080 Price Tag

Shelby American, a a wholly owned subsidiary of Carroll Shelby International Inc., has spent the last year improving on Ford's version of the F-150. The latest generation of the smallest member of the F-Series model line debuted as new for the 2021 model year.

The limited edition Shelby F-150 is the most powerful version of the truck the company has ever crafted. It also has the highest towing and payload capacity of any light-duty full-size pickup.

"The Shelby F-150's supercharged personality delivers spectacular thrills," said Gary Patterson, president of Shelby American. "It has a new suspension, more power and even more technology. Our performance DNA is strong within this super truck, which gives enthusiasts the opportunity to drive an amazing off-road capable Shelby right off the dealer showroom floor."

Shelby's engineers have taken the 395-horsepower V8 that Dearborn's team puts under the hood of the truck and added a supercharge boosting its output to 775 horsepower. That number was achieved using 93-octane fuel.

The truck's intake manifold has been powder coated Ford Performance blue. A Borla exhaust and black dual exhaust tips give the truck its signature roar.

The Shelby F-150 suspension pulls duty under the body and comes complete with Ford Raptor-style Fox shocks with internal bypass technology and adjustable dual-speed controls that allow the truck to be tuned for street driving, rock crawling, or generalized off-roading duties. There's also a BDS lift system, rear traction bars and Billet racing pedals.

Body color fender flares; a fresh grille; side steps with rock guards; a painted rear bumper; tonneau cover with bed rug liner and painted door handles, mirror caps and door trim find their way to the features list.

The whole rig rides on 22-inch Shelby alloy wheels wrapped in BFG all-terrain KO2 tires.

Shelby's take on the truck maintains many of the F-150's sought after from-the-factory features including the ability to do over-the-air software updates, an on-board generator, and a center console that can be flipped into a large table.

There's also two-tone leather seats that feature the Shelby emblem stitched on them in red. Each truck gets Shelby-branded floor mats, a Shelby based console lid and a unique Shelby serial number. The company has added a carbon fiber interior package to the truck.

A ram-air style hood and deeply tinted windows work to keep the model's interior cool, even on hot summer days.

Shelby American backs each of its new F-150 trucks with a three-year/36,000-mile warranty.

Our of the company's 600-vehicle allotted run, the Shelby team will build a limited number of its trucks for U.S. customers and some additional units will be exported.

The four-door trucks have a starting MSRP of $107,080 for a version of the truck based on the 2021 Ford F-150 Lariat 4x4. The Shelby F-150 can be ordered via select Tuscany and Ford dealers across North America.
