Tributes Pour in for Lindsey Pearlman After Body of 'General Hospital' Actor Found in L.A.

Police have confirmed actress Lindsey Pearlman has been found dead in the Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, according to local media outlets. Tributes for the General Hospital actress have since begun appearing on social media.

The 43-year-old actress' death had been confirmed on Friday by LAPD authorities, according to an ABC7 News report.

Pearlman had been reported as missing earlier in the week and police had asked for help from the public in finding her.

Police said they were responding to a call for a death investigation at around 8:30 a.m. local time Friday in the area of Franklin Avenue and North Sierra Bonita Avenue. Authorities were able to confirm the person was Pearlman.

The LAPD initially issued a press release and said that Pearlman had last been seen on February 13. Pearlman's husband Vance Smith said this date was incorrect and said she had been seen on February 15 at 9 p.m.

Since the news of her death, her husband, friends, fans and co-workers have begun posting tributes on social media.

Pearlman's husband took to Instagram on Friday to confirm that she had died.

"The police found Lindsey. She's gone. I'm broken," he wrote in an Instagram picture.

"I will share more later, but I wanted to [send a] thank you to everyone for their love and efforts and ask you to respect the privacy of her family at this time."

The executive producer of show General Hospital, Frank Valentini, tweeted his sorrow at hearing the news that Pearlman had been found dead.

"Lindsey Pearlman was terrific on @GeneralHospital and we are saddened to hear of this tragedy. Our hearts go out to her family and friends," he tweeted.

Director Ryan Case also tweeted: "My heart goes out to everyone who loved Lindsey Pearlman. Unimaginably sad."

Actress Kylie Sparks also remarked on how upsetting the news was of Pearlman's death.

"I didn't know Lindsey Pearlman, but my close friends did, and f*ck, this sucks. I'm so sorry to friends and everyone who loved her." wrote actress Kylie Sparks on Twitter.

The LAPD missing Persons Unit had posted a press release on Pearlman's disappearance on Facebook on February 17 and had called on the public for help in finding her.

Before Pearlman's body had been found, her husband also posted an image of the LAPD missing person press release on his Instagram page and called on his followers to help in any way possible.

"Hi friends. This is real. The last seen date is incorrect. Lindsey was last seen on 2/15 at 9 p.m.," he said in a picture caption.

"I can't share anymore details at this time. I am seeing and appreciate your messages of love and support, but I do not have the capacity to respond to all of them.

"Currently, the only way you can help is if you have specific information regarding her whereabouts or those of her car in the last two days. I will let people know when I have more information."

Pearlman was a TV actress who had worked on such shows as General Hospital, The Ms. Pat Show, Selena: The Series and Vicious, according to her IMDB page.

Newsweek has contacted the Los Angeles Police Department for comment.
