Lisa Bloom Says Accusers of Bill Cosby 'Disgusted' by his Release From Prison
Attorney Lisa Bloom, who represented three of Bill Cosby's accusers, said on Wednesday that her clients are "disgusted" by his release from prison after his sexual assault charges were overturned by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court on June 30.
"The 3 Bill Cosby accusers I represent and I are disgusted that he is a free man today. He is not released because he is innocent," Bloom wrote in a tweet. "He is released because a prosecutor promised him years ago that he would not be brought to justice, without even making a deal for him to do time."
In a subsequent tweet, Bloom wrote, "Every day I fight for sexual assault victims and have to advise them of the ugly truth: the system still massively favors the rich and powerful. You need a superhuman level of strength and courage. Luckily many victims have it. Any other Cosby victims, time to come forward!"

He is not released because he is innocent.
He is released because a prosecutor promised him years ago that he would not be brought to justice, without even making a deal for him to do time.
In a statement sent to Newsweek, Bloom further criticized the decision on Wednesday, writing that, "Having litigated Janice Dickinson's case against Cosby's aggressive legal team for four long years, up to the Supreme Court and back again, it is appalling what money can still buy in the criminal justice system."
"I prepared Janice and watched her and the other supremely brave accusers testify that they were drugged and raped in his 2018 criminal trial," Bloom wrote to Newsweek. "That trial resulted in only the smallest measure of justice against this man, accused by more than 60 women. And now that justice is taken away. It's a punch in the gut to the victims."
Bloom made similar comments while appearing on CNN, saying that she was "absolutely disgusted and shocked by this ruling...I just think it's really a slap in the face to all of the victims."
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday to toss away the charges against Cosby and ordered his release from prison.
Cosby was convicted of sexual assault in 2018 after a former employee at Temple University, Andrea Constand, alleged that he drugged and molested her in 2004.
Cosby served more than two years of his three-to-10-year prison sentence.
In their ruling, judges cited a previous agreement that Cosby made in 2005 with former Montgomery County prosecutor Bruce Castor. The agreement said that Cosby would not be criminally charged in the case.
"[Cosby] must be discharged, and any future prosecution on these particular charges must be barred. We do not dispute that this remedy is both severe and rare," the judges wrote in their ruling. "For these reasons, Cosby's convictions and judgment of sentence are vacated, and he is discharged."
In addition to Constand, former model Janice Dickinson also accused Cosby of sexual assault.
