President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence will participate in a Fox News virtual town hall Tuesday to answer the nation's questions about the coronavirus outbreak.

Cases of a new coronavirus in the United States have risen to 46,450 as of Tuesday morning and 593 people have died, according to a tracker maintained by Johns Hopkins University. To keep the public abreast of the situation, the Coronavirus Task Force, a group of more than 20 people in the Trump administration, has been holding daily briefings.

Along with Trump and Pence, Surgeon General Jerome Adams and Dr. Deborah Birx, two members of the Coronavirus Task Force, will participate in the Fox News virtual town hall. The event is set to begin at noon Eastern time and will last two hours. It can be streamed on viewers' television stations, as well as on the Fox News website and Fox News mobile application. Fox recently waived the authentication process, so anyone can watch the town hall even if they don't have valid cable login credentials.

Governors across the country have implemented measures to keep residents at home to limit the spread of the virus, but some people haven't been doing enough, Surgeon General Jerome Adams said, warning this week: "It's going to get bad."

"I think there are a lot of people are doing the right things but I think a lot of people think this can't happen to them," Adams told TODAY host Savannah Guthrie on Monday.

He pointed to young people hanging out in groups on beaches and people in Washington, D.C., going to visit the Cherry Blossom trees as evidence that not everyone is heeding the message to stay at home. On March 16, the White House issued a 15-day plan to slow the spread and Adams explained that whether Dallas, New Orleans or Chicago turn into the next New York City depends on people "taking the right steps, right now," and staying home.

"Every single day counts, every single second counts and right now there are not enough people taking this seriously," Adams said.

Nearly 30 percent of the cases in the U.S. are in New York City. Of those 13,119 cases, 125 people have died. On Sunday, Governor Andrew Cuomo's executive order went into effect, closing non-essential stores and barring gatherings of all kinds.

Cuomo waived park fees in the state to give people a way to exercise while gyms were closed and kids—who are out of school—an outlet for their energy. Under the executive order, residents are still able to use the parks, but only for solitary exercise, which does not include basketball, according to the governor. Mayor Bill de Blasio noted that playgrounds would also remain open, but only as long as families are being responsible and participating in social distancing.

More than 10 other states have enacted similar orders, including California, Illinois and New Jersey. Jay Inslee, governor of Washington state, where one of the first outbreaks occurred, announced a stay-at-home order on Monday night, telling residents that the less time people spend in public "the more lives we will save."

This article has been updated to include information that viewers can watch the town hall on Fox News without cable login credentials and that Surgeon General Jerome Adams and Dr. Deborah Birx will participate in the town hall.
