'Madden' Super Bowl Predictions: NFL Video Game Has Los Angeles Rams Beating New England Patriots

Ahead of Super Bowl LIII, the best-selling video game franchise, Madden NFL, released its prediction on who would win the championship.

To predict whether the Los Angeles Rams or New England Patriots would take home the Lombardi Trophy, the video game created a simulation of the game. Ultimately, Madden NFL 19, the latest version of the game to be released, predicted the Rams would beat the Patriots, 30 - 27.

The Patriots will be up at halftime 17-3, but by the third quarter, the two teams will be tied 20-20, Forbes reported the simulation predicted. Although the Rams were predicted to score a 53-yard field goal, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s touchdown pass would bring the score to 27-23 at the fourth quarter.

However, the game-winning play was with the Rams' Todd Gurley when he successfully got a five-yard touchdown.

The simulation predicted Brady would have 287 passing yards, shy of Rams quarterback Jared Goff by 16 yards. Goff was predicted to be intercepted once, the same as Brady. Both quarterbacks were also predicted to have two touchdowns, as well.

Madden’s annual tradition of predicting the Super Bowl began in 2004, according to Complex, and has correctly selected the winner of 10 out of the 15 games.
