Man Slammed For Asking Ex-Wife To Bake Gender Reveal Cake for Woman He Cheated On Her With

A man has been accused of "adding insult to injury" after trying to get his ex-wife to bake a gender reveal cake for the woman he had an affair with.

They say the worst kind of hurt is betrayal, because it means someone was willing to hurt you to make themselves feel better. Even so, the level of betrayal experienced by the divorced mom of twins posting to Reddit's "Am I The A**hole?" subreddit takes some beating.

"My ex husband and I have 1 year old twins together and due to a lot of complications from that pregnancy I got a partial hysterectomy," she wrote. "We divorced during my pregnancy after I discovered he cheated on me."

Since the split, her ex has moved in with the woman he cheated on his wife with and she is now pregnant. "She didn't know he had a wife at the time, and I firmly believe that," the woman states.

Despite this, the woman, who has also remarried, reacted badly when her ex-husband's girlfriend got in touch with an unusual request.

According to the post, the man's ex-wife runs a baking company that specializes in custom desserts like gender reveal cakes.

His new girlfriend recently called her up to ask if she would make a gender reveal cake for her, stating that it would mean a lot for "the mother of her baby's siblings made the cake for the party."

However, the man's ex said no. "I am admittedly incredibly bitter at my ex for cheating on me while I was bedridden and medically fragile being pregnant with his children," she explained.

Though she tried to explain the situation to her husband's new partner she "hung up" on the call, evidently upset at her response. It was at that point that her ex got involved, calling her "rude and unreasonable" and accusing her of being "completely unprofessional."

The woman, however, did not back down, telling her ex she was "allowed to refuse service to anyone" before hanging up the phone. At the time of writing, the post had earned over 14,000 upvotes on Reddit, with users quick to condemn the husband's actions.

"How narcissistic of your ex," Gabstar213 wrote. "This is epic 'adding insult to injury.'" Others, like Ruiven19090 were incredulous. "He cheated on you and he expects you to bake him a f***ing cake about it? He needs to get a clue," they commented. "He is rude and unreasonable and your business and professionalism are none of his concern," OMVince added. "It's pretty weird that he would think it is."

MollyRolls said: "I 100 percent guarantee he was assuming they'd get a friends-and-family discount" while Marigoldlocks suspected: "if you did do the cake, if anything at all is wrong with the flavor, the texture, the color, the whatever, then you'll be blamed for having done it on purpose."

Mini_soufle, meanwhile, suspected the husband's new girlfriend was trying to involve his ex to try and "legitimize their cheating" by creating a picture of harmony to others.

Newsweek has contacted the original poster for comment.

Though it might seem hard to believe, research published by the Journal of Clinical Medicine in 2020 found that as many as one in 10 men cheat on their partner while she is pregnant.

One mother-in-law recently earned praise on social media after she detailed how she demanded her son tell his pregnant wife he had cheated on her—or she would.

In another instance, a pregnant woman found support online after discovering her husband was fired from his job for sexual misconduct.
