Transfer News: Manchester United Set For £30 Million Chelsea Winger But Could Lose Young Star

Manchester United will watch bitter rivals Manchester City win the Premier League title on Saturday (April 7) should the Red Devils lose at the Etihad Stadium.

That prospect will crush even the most plastic of United fans, and it will sting right to the very heart of the ardent ones. So the club will react; they will look to challenge next season.

And they will do so by improving Jose Mourinho's squad, trimming the edges he wants removed and adding to those areas he wants polished.

Today's transfer round-up includes both of those scenarios for United. Newsweek provides you will all the transfer news and rumors swirling around the Premier League, starting at Old Trafford:

After a frustrating season of fall-outs with Mourinho, Luke Shaw looks set to leave Old Trafford this summer—and what a move it would be too. According to The Sun, the Manchester United left-back is wanted on loan by Barcelona and the La Liga champions will make a move in the summer for the 22-year-old. Juan Mata is also set to leave the club, as his contract expires at the end of the season.

While Shaw and Mata look to be on their way out of Manchester, Willian could be on his way in. The Sun say Manchester United are confident that they can capture the 29-year-old Brazilian winger from Chelsea this summer for a price of just £30 million. Mourinho won the Premier League title with Willian at Stamford Bridge in 2015.

Over in Hertfordshire, one of the signings of the seasons at Watford has been given reassurances over his future. The Brazilian forward Richarlison had a blistering start to the Premier League season with five goals in his first 13 games for Watford after joining from Fluminense. The 20-year-old has been dropped after not scoring for 21 games but been assured his future at the club is safe, according to the Daily Mirror.

Another player dropped from a Premier League club is Saido Berahino. According to the Daily Telegraph, the 24-year-old has been banished from Stoke City's first-team squad after he turned up late to an under-23s game this week. New manager Paul Lambert is looking to instill discipline at the club.

And finally, there's good news for Newcastle United. According to the Newcastle Chronicle, 29-year-old goalkeeper Martin Dubravka wants to stay at St. James' Park when his loan expires at the end of the season. Newcastle have an option to buy the Slovakian from Sparta Prague for £4.2 million.
