Mar10 Day 2020: Nintendo Announces Super Mario Lego and Offers $20 Off Selected Super Mario Bros. Switch Games
Happy Mar10 Day—a day where gamers across the world celebrate the Super Mario Bros. franchise.
Super Mario Bros. is based in the Mushroom Kingdom, with the game first appearing in the 1980s. The main character, Mario, uses his abilities and works with his friends—including his brother Luigi and trusty steed Yoshi—to save the Princess Peach from the king of the Koopas, Bowser.
The original game saw Mario work his way through levels with the help of powerups. Since its initial release, there have been several spin-offs including Mario Kart and Dr. Mario World.
Similar to Star Wars' holiday, May the Fourth, Mario Day is a play on the date of March 10. To help fans everywhere make the most of the day, Nintendo and retailers across the U.S. are offering deals on games from the franchise.
According to the Nintendo website, for a limited time, Nintendo Switch games from the franchise will have $20 off, subject to the retailer. Up until March 14—March 15 for Best Buy—the following deals will be available:

"Something fun is being built! Stay tuned..." tweeted Nintendo of America.

What exactly is being launched is not certain but with Nintendo and LEGO partnering, it could mean a Super Mario LEGO game, following the footsteps of famous franchises such as Harry Potter, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Batman.
Newsweek has contacted Nintendo for comment on the collaboration with LEGO.
