March Madness Predictions 2019: Betting Lines for First Four and First Round Games of NCAA Basketball Tournament

The 2019 NCAA men's basketball tournament tips off on Tuesday with the First Four games in Dayton, Ohio.

The four play-in games will conclude on Wednesday, paving the way for March Madness to begin fully on Thursday with 16 of the 32 First Round games.

The four number one seeds—Duke, Gonzaga, North Carolina and Virginia—are the bookmakers' favorites to reach the Final Four. However, while each of them is expected to make light work of the First Round, the NCAA Tournament is fertile ground for upsets and shocks.

After all, it is called March Madness for a reason.

No team will be more aware of potential surprises than Virginia. Last year, the Cavaliers became the first number one seed to be eliminated by a number 16 seed when they lost 74-54 to UMBC in the round of 64.

While Virginia will hope the lightning doesn't strike twice, there are a number of First Round games that look like upsets ready to happen, beginning with number 12 seed Oregon's matchup against number five Wisconsin on Friday.

The Ducks went on an eight-game winning streak to finish the season and held teams to 35 percent from the floor, while Wisconsin ranked 121st nationwide in field goal percentage during the regular season.

Elsewhere, according to SportsLine's Upset Tournament Bracket, the East Region could see a few upsets. The computer simulation has correctly predicted 12 out of 18 double-digit upsets in the First Round over the past three years and expects number nine seed UCF to beat number eight seed VCU, while number 14 seed Yale came out on top in 25 percent of simulations against LSU.

Here's all the betting lines for the First Four and First Round games according to OddsShark (number in bracket denotes the team's seeding).
