When Is Mariah Carey Releasing Her New Holiday Song, 'Fall In Love At Christmas?'
In pop culture, this time of year belongs to one woman and one woman only, and that is Mariah Carey.
It's hard to believe that "All I Want For Christmas Is You" was first released 27 years ago, and yet remains a festive classic.
Her holiday album Merry Christmas was first released in 1994 and since then Carey has gone on to release new festive songs and remixes of the original hit.
Taking to Instagram, she teased her latest seasonal single "Fall In Love At Christmas." Here's what we know so far...
When Is Mariah Carey Releasing Her New Christmas Song?
The first clues appeared in a tongue-in-cheek video posted on November 1.
With Halloween officially over, Carey took a candy cane-striped baseball bat to three pumpkins with "it's not time" carved into them as her classic 1994 hit played.
"It's time," she said as she then appeared dressed in a Santa outfit, playing with a dog and throwing fake snow.
One Christmas present seen in the corner of the frame shared the date 11/5, hinting that something fresh would be coming.
Text at the end of the video read: "It's time!! To smash that pumpkin and treat it as pie... cause we still gotta get through Thanksgiving!! [sic]."
A day later, she revealed she'd be releasing a new song, to help us get into the Christmas spirit—because if anyone can, it's her.
In a snippet posted on social media, she can be heard singing in her signature whistle register. The song also features Khalid and Kirk Franklin.
The video teasing the new single featured images of Carey, Khalid and Franklin as children during the holiday season.
As suspected from her previous post, the song is to be released on November 5.
In addition to new music, the Queen of Christmas is set to appear in her very own Apple TV+ holiday special.
Mariah's Christmas: The Magic Continues is her second festive TV extravaganza with the streaming platform.
Both Khalid and Franklin will join her in the show for her first and only performance of the new track.
Apple TV+ has yet to announce an official release date, but it is reportedly set to arrive on the platform in December (which, ya know, kinda makes sense).
Last year's Mariah Carey's Magical Christmas Special was narrated by Tiffany Haddish and featured guest appearances from stars including Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson and Snoop Dogg.
Her two children, Moroccan and Monroe, also featured in the special.
2020's show is also set to be re-released on the platform in the lead up to Christmas.
