Marjorie Taylor Greene Fires Back at Rashida Tlaib Over Israeli Military Response
Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene accused several U.S. lawmakers of "supporting" terrorism, as she claimed Michigan Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib and others are helping to fund the militant group Hamas amid the current conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.
Greene tossed out several unfounded claims about Democrats—ranging from former President Barack Obama to Tlaib—saying they have backed funding for the anti-Israel group Hamas and other organizations she labeled "terrorists."
The GOP lawmaker replied to Tlaib's Saturday tweet in which the Michigan congresswoman denounced Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and accused the Israeli military of targeting media organizations. The Associated Press and Al-Jazeera had offices in a Gaza City tower that was destroyed by the Israeli Defense Forces bombing on Saturday.
"Israel targeting media sources is so the world can't see Israel's war crimes led by the apartheid-in-chief Netanyahu. It's so the world can't see the killing of babies, children and their parents. It's so the world can't see Palestinians being massacred," Tlaib had tweeted, prompting the rebuke from the Georgia Republican.
"Israel was not targeting media, they were targeting the terrorist organization Hamas that is funded $30M/month by Iran, and has been firing over 1,000 rockets into Israel this past week.@RashidaTlaib do you support Hamas Jihad and Iran funding terrorism? If so, resign now," Greene tweeted at the Michigan congresswoman Sunday.

She tied Democrats to Hamas by claiming that the U.S. sent $1.7 billion to Iran, who in turn give $30 million per month to Hamas. Greene also said congressional lawmakers who are in support of Hamas or other Israeli opposition groups should be "expelled" from Congress.
"Never forget that Obama/Biden sent $1.7B pallets of cash to Iran. Iran funds Hamas jihad $30M/month against our ally Israel. The #JihadSquad supports re-entering the Iran deal & Hamas terrorism against Israel. Members of Congress supporting terrorism must be expelled," Greene posted.

Reports first emerged in 2019 that Iran was sending $30 million each month to Hamas in an effort to help fund their perpetual anti-Israel attacks. U.S. Republicans have since accused Democrats of helping to supply this funding to Iran, despite the U.S. sending nearly $4 billion in aid directly to Israel every year. Hamas representatives in 2019 told Israeli publications that they do accept about $30 million each month from Iran.
Newsweek reached out to the congressional offices of both Tlaib and Greene for additional remarks.
