Why Isn't 'The Masked Singer' Airing Tonight?

Sorry folks, but there will be no guessing as to which celebrities are hiding behind wacky costumes on Season 4 of The Masked Singer on Wednesday night.

The Fox singing competition is on hiatus this week while the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays face off in the second game of the 2020 World Series, which begins at 8 p.m. ET. The Masked Singer will return with a brand new episode on October 28.

When the musical series returns, viewers will finally get to meet Group C contestants Broccoli, Jellyfish, Squiggly Monster, Mushroom and Lips. Their debut will mark a short stint on the show for one of the mystery celebrities hiding behind one of the costumes, because one of them will be voted off and their identity will be revealed near the end of the show. However, the remaining contestants will join Group A contestants The Sun, Popcorn and Snow Owls, as well as Group B members Serpent, Crocodile, Whatchamacallit or Seahorse.

Since the show's premiere in September, Group A members have performed twice. The Sun, Popcorn and Snow Owls were instant standouts. However, Dragon, who turned out to be Busta Rhymes, was eliminated in the first round. Brian Austin Green, who was posing as the colonial Giraffe, got the boot shortly after.

As for Group B, they've had a thrilling run on the show thus far.

For starters, one of the contestants basically eliminated himself before host Nick Cannon could even reveal the singer with the least number of votes during episode 2. Mickey Rourke—who was dressed as the Gremlin—unmasked himself before the results of the evening were revealed, marking the first time a contestant has revealed their identity before being eliminated on the show.

Then there was the big identity-reveal for Baby Alien, who was eliminated on The Masked Singer last week. The judges were completely stumped by the performer's rendition of "It's Time" by Imagine Dragons. Nicole Scherzinger thought NFL superstar Tom Brady was hiding behind the extraterrestrial costume, while The Masked Singer guest judge Joel McHale suggested Baby Alien could have been Eric Bana. Ken Jeong thought it was Twilight star Taylor Lautner hiding behind the mask.

In actuality, it was NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez disguised as Baby Alien.

Another contestant will bite the dust when The Masked Singer returns on Fox on October 28 at 8 p.m. ET.
