You Can Now Get Paid $1,000 To Watch All Four 'Matrix' Films at Home

Calling all Matrix fans, you can now get paid a tidy $1,000 to watch all four films in the franchise.

It's a handsome amount, considering you would probably watch the movies for free on your couch during a weekend binge anyway.

The dream job is being advertised by EasyTechJunkie, and coincides with the release of the fourth installment of the epic series, The Matrix Resurrections.

The Matrix Resurrections hit movie theaters and HBO Max earlier this month, with Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity from the blockbusters.

The first film, simply called The Matrix, was released in 1999 to critical acclaim, winning a slew of awards including four Academy Awards.

The 2 hour 30 minute flick was followed by The Matrix Reloaded, with a runtime of 2 hours 18 minutes, and the third movie, The Matrix Revolutions, was 2 hours 9 minutes long. Both were released in 2003.

The total runtime of all four movies is 9 hours 25 minutes, meaning you get paid roughly $100 an hour for the gig.

EasyTechJunkie states the lucky candidate will need to finish all four films within 48 hours.

The job description says: "We're looking for someone that lives for a good sci-fi movie. They can endure watching 10 hours of non-stop action, whether that means they're sitting on the couch enjoying the film or practicing their stunts right along with the characters."

As well as the cash, the sci-fi fan will also receive a one year's ad-free subscription to HBO Max, currently screening The Matrix Resurrections.

They will also be expected to post about their movie-marathon on social media, sharing their "thoughts and excitement" with the world.

Although EasyTechJunkie assured: "Whether you're a die-hard fan or this is the first you've ever heard of The Matrix, you're welcome to apply."

To be in with a chance of winning, you will need to state why you are the perfect person for the job, with videos welcomed, as EasyTechJunkie also noted "emojis are acceptable."

The dream job is only open to U.S. residents aged 18 and over, with the deadline to submit an application January 3, 2022. To apply, click here.

The Matrix Resurrections was released on December 22, and sees familiar faces back in the simulated reality which is the Matrix.

But notable absences include Laurence Fishburne as Morpheus and Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith, as their characters are played by new actors.
