Mega Millions Numbers, Results for 12/17/21: Did Anyone Win $160 Million?

Mega Millions' winning numbers from the drawing on Friday, November 17, were: 21, 32, 38, 48, 62 and the Mega Ball was 10; the Megaplier was 3X.

A top prize of $160 million with a cash option of $116.6 million was on offer, according to the Mega Millions website; however, no one won the Jackpot on Friday.

One big winner with a ticket bought in Texas matched the five white balls to take the $1 million prize. By playing the Megaplier for an extra dollar, the winnings were tripled.

There were 10 winners of the $10,000 prize whose tickets matched four white balls and the Mega Ball. Two of those tickets used the Megaplier to treble their money.

Meanwhile, 275 tickets matched four white balls to win $500, and 58 of them played the Megaplier. Some 798 tickets matched three white balls and the Mega Ball to win $200, 145 of them playing the Megaplier.

In total, the December 17 drawing produced over 509,000 winning tickets of at least $2.

The jackpot now grows to $171 million for Tuesday's drawing with a cash option of $124.6 million.

Although no one took the top prize this time, there have been big winners this year.

In January, a $1.05 billion prize was won by a group of Michigan players, while in May, a five-strong group in Pennsylvania won the jackpot and chose the cash option taking home $254,233,980 after taxes.

A ticket holder in New York won the jackpot in September in which the top prize was $431 million.

David Larsen was the largest Wisconsin Lottery winner of 2021 winning $3 million through a ticket he bought on September 23. The Quick Pick BP Food/Naila Inc., in New Berlin that sold the ticket received a $60,000 incentive.

How To play

One of the country's most popular lotteries, Mega Millions drawings take place every Tuesday and Fridays at 11 p.m. ET.

Five white balls are drawn from balls numbered 1 through 70 and a yellow Mega Ball is taken from a set numbered from 1 to 25.

Tickets cost $2 per play and for an extra dollar in most states, there is the Megaplier option, which can increase non-jackpot prizes between two and five times.

If there is no jackpot winner, the money is added to the top prize for the following drawing. Once the jackpot is won, the top prize goes back to $20 million.

People can buy tickets in 45 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. However, they can not be bought in Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah.
