The latest Mega Millions jackpot on Tuesday night was worth $321 million with a cash option of $193.7 million. Lottery players who played Tuesday night's game awaited to see if their numbers were picked during the Christmas drawing at 11 p.m. EST. Was anyone lucky enough to win the jackpot?

The winning numbers announced on Tuesday night were 2-8-42-43-50, Mega Ball 6, and Megaplier 3X, according to the Mega Millions website. Although no one was able to win the $321 million prize, there were two lucky winners who won the one million dollar prize after matching all five numbers, according to the website. One of the winners was from Missouri. There was also a match five and a Megaplier winner from Connecticut, which is worth $3 million, according to the website. The drawings for Mega Millions take place every Tuesday and Friday night at 11 p.m. EST. The lottery game is played across the U.S. in 44 states, including the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands. To play the game, Mega Millions players will choose five numbers from one through 70 and then a sixth number ranging from one through 25, according to the Mega Millions website.

The last person to claim a Mega Millions jackpot was a man from New Mexico. Timothy Monte of Tohajiilee, New Mexico, claimed his winnings of $4 million on Tuesday, December 18. He told lottery officials that he had purchased his ticket at a gas station in Albuquerque for the drawing on December 14.

Monte said he only plays Mega Millions and thought he had won $40,000 from the drawing, but he won $4 million. He had purchased Megaplier for an additional dollar, which quadrupled his winnings to $4 million, according to lottery officials. With the money he's won, Monte told lottery officials he plans to help his family with his winnings.

Earlier this year, there was a ticket sold in South Carolina for the $1.5 billion lottery ticket during the October 24 drawing. The winning ticket was sold at the KC Mart #7 in Simpsonville, South Carolina, CBS News reported. Whoever is holding the lottery ticket has until April to come forward to claim the prize.
