How to Watch, Stream the Mega Millions Results, Numbers Drawing Live Tonight 2/12/2019
Mega Millions hopefuls had another chance at the jackpot Tuesday night and it was up to a total of $173 million with the cash option of $105.1 million. The drawing was scheduled for 11 p.m. EST Tuesday in Atlanta.
The last drawing, on Friday, resulted in two math five winners but no jackpot winners. Neither of those winners had the Megaplier on their ticket so they each won a million dollars for themselves. An additional 17 people matched four of the white balls and the one yellow one to win the $10,000 prize, and five of them won $30,000 due to the Megaplier.
Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday and tickets are sold in 44 states as well as Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets aren't sold in Nevada, Utah, Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi and Alabama. Tickets are sold until an hour or two before the drawing, but it varies from state to state so those who wish to play should check the specifics of their state lottery.
The Megaplier allows tickets holders the chance to multiply any winnings by two, three, four or five times. The Megaplier isn't available in every state though, so again, those with tickets should check the rules in their specific state. Where it is available, the Megaplier costs an additional dollar on top of the two dollar ticket price. The Megaplier multiplies winnings on non-jackpot prizes and is drawn before the winning numbers for the night.
In order to win the jackpot, ticket holders have to match the first five numbers that are drawn from a pool of one to 70 and the sixth number that's drawn from a pool of one to 25. They can choose the numbers they want to play when they buy their ticket or have the numbers randomly generated for them.
Whether or not jackpot winners can remain anonymous varies from state to state, so does the amount of time winners have to claim their prize after winning. Nothing can be done about lost tickets so anyone who buys one should sign the back of it so only they can cash it in, that way if it's lost someone else can't cash it in.
