Mega Millions Results, Numbers for 9/7/21: Did Anyone Win the $345 Million Jackpot?
The winning numbers for the Mega Millions lottery game for September 7, offering a jackpot prize of $345 million, with a cash-value option of $247.3 million, were revealed on Tuesday at 11 p.m. ET.
The latest numbers drawn were 15, 17, 25, 32 and 53 for the white balls, while the yellow Mega Ball was 12 and the Megaplier was 3x.
There were no winners of the top jackpot prize but one ticket holder won the second prize of $1 million. The second prize winner did not purchase the Megaplier, which would have earned the player $3 million.
Nineteen players matched four white balls and the Mega Ball, winning them each $10,000. One of those winners opted for the Megaplier, which won them $30,000.
There were 454 ticket holders who matched four white balls, which earned them each $500, with 77 players each winning the Megaplier prize of $1,500.
There were also 1,306 winners who matched three white balls, each winning $200, with 237 of those winners each winning the Megaplier prize of $600.
The next Mega Millions drawing will be on Friday, September 10, at 11 p.m. ET, for an estimated jackpot prize of $368 million, with a cash-value option of $263.7 million.
Last Friday's drawing also had no grand prize winners. However, one person did win the game's second prize with a ticket sold in Texas that matched the first five white balls but not the gold Mega Ball. The winner purchased the Megaplier for an extra $1, so their second prize was worth $2 million.
How to Play Mega Millions
Mega Millions drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. ET. Five white balls are drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 70, while one yellow Mega Ball is drawn from balls numbered 1 through 25. You win if the numbers on your lottery ticket match the numbers of the balls drawn on that date.
Mega Millions tickets cost $2 per play. If no one wins the jackpot prize, the money is added to the top prize for the following drawing.
Most states offer a Megaplier option, which costs an additional $1 per play and increases non-jackpot prizes by two, three, four or five times. Before each Mega Millions drawing on Tuesdays and Fridays, the Megaplier is drawn from a pool of 15 balls. Five of these balls are marked with 2X, six with 3X, three with 4X and one with 5X.
The odds of winning with a $2 Mega Millions ticket are one in 303 million. See the Mega Millions website for more information.
