Did Anyone Win the $45 Mega Millions Jackpot on 10/5/2021? Numbers and Results

The results of the Mega Millions lottery game for October 5, offering a jackpot prize of $45 million, with a cash-value option of $31.6 million, were revealed on Tuesday at 11 p.m. ET.

The numbers drawn last night were 7, 11, 18, 30 and 36 for the white balls, while the yellow Mega Ball was 4 and the Megaplier was 3x.

There were no jackpot winners in the latest drawing. But two players (one in Florida and another in New Jersey) correctly matched the five white balls, which won them each the second prize of $1 million. Neither second prize winner purchased the Megaplier for an extra $1, which would have raised each of their earnings to $3 million.

There were 33 ticket holders who matched four white balls and the Mega Ball, winning them each $10,000. Nine of the winners bought the Megaplier, which earned them each $30,000.

There were 550 ticket holders who matched four white balls, which earned them each $500, with 112 of them each earning the Megaplier prize of $1,500.

The game also had 1,357 winners who matched three white balls, each winning $200, with 271 of those winners each earning the Megaplier prize of $600.

The next Mega Millions drawing will be on Friday, October 8, at 11 p.m. ET, with an estimated jackpot prize of $60 million and cash-value option of $42.1 million.

Last Friday's drawing had no grand prize winners, but one lucky player in Florida matched the five white balls, which won them the second prize of $1 million. Had the player opted for the Megaplier for an extra $1, their second prize would have been worth $2 million.

Nine ticket holders last Friday correctly matched four of the five white balls as well as the Mega Ball, earning them each the $10,000 third prize. Four of these winners purchased the Megaplier, which raised each of their winnings to $20,000.

How to Play Mega Millions

Mega Millions drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. ET. Five white balls are drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 70, while one yellow Mega Ball is drawn from balls numbered 1 through 25. You win if the numbers on your lottery ticket match the numbers of the balls drawn on that date.

Mega Millions tickets cost $2 per play. If no one wins the jackpot prize, the money is added to the top prize for the following drawing.

Most states offer a Megaplier option, which costs an additional $1 per play and increases non-jackpot prizes by two, three, four or five times. Before each Mega Millions drawing on Tuesdays and Fridays, the Megaplier is drawn from a pool of 15 balls. Five of these balls are marked with 2X, six with 3X, three with 4X and one with 5X.

The odds of winning with a $2 Mega Millions ticket are one in 303 million. See the Mega Millions website for more information.
