Where Was Mega Millions Winner's Ticket Sold? Winning Numbers Selected In New Jersey

Updated | The New Jersey location that sold the $521 million Mega Millions ticket was announced Saturday morning.

Friday night's lucky Mega Millions winner purchased the ticket at Lukoil on Route 23 South in Riverdale, New Jersey, the New Jersey Lottery said.

Riverdale is in North Jersey, about 30 miles from New York City.

"We are thrilled that the winning ticket was sold in Morris County. I'm happy to congratulate Riverdale Lukoil South of 105 Route 23 South in Riverdale, the retailer that sold this winning ticket," John M. White, New Jersey Lottery Acting Executive Director, said in a statement.

The winner, who has yet to claim the ticket, will have the option to choose from the estimated annuity value of $521 (before taxes) or the cash value of about $317.2 million. They have one year from the date of the drawing to file a claim and collect the 10th largest-prize in U.S. lottery history.

"A hearty congratulations to New Jersey for their big Mega Millions win," Gordon Medenica, Mega Millions Lead Director and Maryland Lottery and Gaming Director, said in a statement. "The whole country can't wait to meet the newest millionaire, but we all shared in the fun of playing."

The Mega Millions March 30 winning numbers were 11, 28, 31, 46, 59 and Mega Ball 1.

Since the jackpot was hit, it will now reset back to $40 million. The next opportunity to win will be on April 3.

The largest-ever Mega Millions jackpot, worth $656 million, was drawn in March 2016. Three winners from Kansas, Illinois and Maryland split the record-setting prize.
