Meghan Markle's Half Brother Calls Her 'Shallow' on Australian 'Big Brother'

Meghan Markle's half brother said he told Prince Harry the duchess would "ruin your life" in a video ahead of his appearance on Australia's Big Brother VIP.

Meghan faces the prospect of more damaging attacks from her own family after Thomas Markle Jr. entered the reality TV show.

He will appear alongside Caitlyn Jenner and former Donald Trump adviser Omarosa Manigault Newman when the show airs later this year, Channel 7 News reported.

However, according to the Daily Mail, filming began on July 30 and the first promo for the new series features Markle Jr. prominently.

In footage posted to the show's Twitter account, Markle Jr. said: "I'm Meghan Markle's brother, I'm the biggest brother of them all."

He added: "I told Prince Harry, I think she's going to ruin your life. She's very shallow."

Meghan and her half brother share a father, Thomas Markle Sr., but have different mothers.

Markle Jr. is 55 while she turned 40 last week, meaning he was already 15 by the time she was born.

The lead up to Meghan and Prince Harry's May 2018 wedding was dominated by TV appearances and scandals relating to members of her family.

Thomas Markle Sr. was caught staging paparazzi pictures for money just days before the Windsor Castle ceremony.

Markle Jr. was arrested in January 2017 and accused of holding a gun to his then girlfriend's head during a drunken argument, USA Today reported.

At the time, he told The Sun: "I am incredibly sorry for my actions and I'm especially sorry to everyone affected by my drinking.

"I am seeking help and I promise I will be the best person I can be going forward. Thank you for understanding."

The incident came less than three months after Meghan and Harry's relationship was first revealed.

Then, weeks before the wedding in May 2018, he wrote an open letter to Prince Harry asking him to call off the ceremony because Meghan was a "jaded, shallow, conceited woman that will make a joke of you and the royal family heritage."

Published by In Touch, it read: "As more time passes to your royal wedding, it became very clear that this is the biggest mistake in royal wedding history. Meghan Markle is obviously not the right woman for you.

"I'm confused why you don't see the real Meghan that the whole world now sees. Meghan's attempt to act the part of a princess like a below C average Hollywood actress is getting old."

His sister Samantha Markle has also been a repeated thorn in Meghan's side, accusing her of being a social climber within hours of the relationship being announced in 2016.

In November that year, she told Radar Online: "The royal family would be appalled by what she's done to her own family.

"The truth would kill her relationship with Prince Harry, he wouldn't want to date her anymore because it puts her in a bad public light."

And she told The Sun: "Hollywood has changed her. I think her ambition is to become a princess."

More recently she has written a biography titled The Diary of Princess Pushy's Sister.
