Meghan McCain: I'll Never Forgive Donald Trump for Attacking My Dad

The daughter of Senator John McCain has said she will never forgive President Donald Trump for attacking her father.

Meghan McCain, a presenter on The View, lambasted the president for his comments about the senator, which include dismissing his service in the armed forces, mocking his voting choices and continuing to make derisive comments about McCain following his diagnosis with brain cancer.

"[Trump's] comments are never going to be OK with me, especially at this moment in my life. I'm never going to forgive it. I'm never going to move on from it," The Hill reported Meghan McCain saying in an interview, shortly after accepting the LBJ Liberty and Justice for All Award on behalf of her politician father.

McCain's family have spoken out about the president's treatment of the senator on several occasions, responding publicly after White House aide Kelly Sadler commented that the senator's opposition to President Donald Trump's CIA nominee Gina Haspel didn't matter because "he's dying anyway."

"Kelly, here's a little news flash ... We're all dying. I'm dying, you're dying, we're all dying. And I want to say since my dad has been diagnosed ... I really feel like I understand the meaning of life, and it is not how you die, it's how you live," Meghan McCain previously said on The View following new of the comments, which were made in a White House meeting.

And Meghan, who has previously spoken about the close relationship she shares with her father, added that she would not be speaking in private with anyone from the White House following the Sadler comments.

"If anyone [at the White House] wants to say anything to me in any way, they have to do it publicly. I don't take private phone calls from the Trump Administration anymore," she said at the weekend.
