Memorial Day 2020 Sales, Freebies, Deals, Discounts and Food for Veterans and Military

Today (May 25, 2020) is Memorial Day—a day that honors those who fell during Amerian wars. It is also an opportunity to honor those who serve our country today, including veterans.

May also marks National Military Appreciation Month, with many stores and restaurants doing discounts for members of the armed forces and veterans. Newsweek has taken a look for the best freebies, discounts and deals for those who have served our nation.

  • Academy Sports + Outdoor: Get 10 percent off for active military and veterans from until today (May 25) in-store and online.
  • Addidas: Verified military members get 40 percent off for a limited time.
  • Asics: The military can get a 60 percent discount on all full-priced products in their online store.
  • Blue Star Museums – Free Admission to over 2,000 museums: according to website Military Benefits, military members and their families can receive free admission to more than 2,000 museums across America from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Blue Star Theatres offers complimentary or discounted admission to all military members and their families, including veterans at over 150 theatres across the country.
  • Burger King: Select locations offer a 10 percent discount to veterans; check ahead with your local franchise.
  • Chuck E. Cheese: Order a delivery from the famous restaurant, show your Common Access Card, Uniformed Services ID Card or Dependent ID Card, to be able to get special military discounts on food.
  • Home Depot: All military veterans get 10 percent discount on in-store at the home improvement chain. There is also a year-round 10 percent discount at participating U.S. locations to active duty personnel, reservists, retired or disabled veterans. A valid military ID must be presented to receive the discount.

  • Hooters: 20 percent off all food takeout orders every day until further notice to all military personnel.
  • Nike: Active, veteran, retired, and reservist U.S Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Space Force and Coast Guard personnel are eligible to receive a 20 percent Nike military discount on Nike.com and at Nike, Converse, and Hurley stores.
  • Outback Steakhouse: 10 percent off discount is open to military personnel and their immediate family members who have state or federal service ID
  • Quiznos Sub: Until today, current and former military members and get a free 8-inch sub when they purchase another 8-inch sub and two bottled drinks.
  • Reebok: Military personnel can get a 50 percent discount.
