Metal Band Frontwoman Urinated on Fan During Music Festival Set

Sophia Urista, frontwoman for Brass Against, urinated on a fan during their Welcome to Rockville set in Daytona, Florida.

The band was performing a cover of Rage Against the Machine's Wake Up, when Urista reportedly told the crowd she needed to urinate.

"Get my man with the can on his head ready, 'cause we're going to bring him onstage and I'ma p**s in this motherf**ker's mouth," she said according to The Independent.

"I gotta pee," she continued. "And I can't make it to the bathroom. So we might as well make a show out of it."

A video of the incident was uploaded to YouTube on November 12 and has since racked up more than 1.5 million views. About halfway through the video, a fan with a can attached to his forehead can be seen making his way up to the stage. When he arrives, Urista instructs him to lay down and then stands over him to urinate.

After she's done, she walks away briefly, and the man begins throwing the urine into the crowd. Urista then tells the man to "get the f**k out of here," so he makes his way back into the crowd as the band continues to perform.

The full performance can be viewed here.

In an exchange with one Twitter user about consent, the band said that the fan knew beforehand that Urista was going to urinate on him.

"Did he know he was gonna get p**sed on during the show," asked @avoidthehanoid.

"Yes. Several comments made about peeing prior to it actually happening. Invited to stage," Brass Against responded.

In an official statement from Brass Against—which was also posted to Twitter—the band claimed Urista got "carried away."

"We had a great time last night at Welcome to Rockville. Sophia got carried away," the band tweeted. "That's not something the rest of us expected, and it's not something you'll see again at our shows. Thanks for bringing it last night, Daytona."

It is important to note that, per Florida statute 800.03, it is illegal for a person to expose "his or her sexual organs in public or on the private premises of another, or so near thereto as to be seen from such private premises, in a vulgar or indecent manner."

Public nudity is also illegal unless an individual "is merely naked at any place provided or set apart for that purpose."

A spokesperson with the Daytona Police Department told Newsweek that a concerned mother called a county dispatcher seeking further information about potential "ramifications," as her 16-year-old was in attendance and watched the incident live.

The spokesperson added that the department attempted to make contact with the mother, but she did not return their calls, so an incident report was never created.
