The New York Mets are off to a strong start this season. In their first series, they took two of three games from the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The team now is now headed to take on the St. Louis Cardinals for a three-game series at Busch Stadium. However, some news came out regarding their catcher Francisco Alvarez.

Alvarez recently made a change in representation, per a report. He had been represented by Rimas Sports, the same agency that represents rapper Bad Bunny, but Alvarez is going in a different direction according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

"Francisco Alvarez has hired The Team (formerly called Wasserman) to represent him," Heyman posted on X. "Alvarez had Bad Bunny's agency previously but they were placed on hiatus.

Alvarez hit his first home run over the weekend and is slashing .333/.500/.833 with a 1.333 OPS in six at-bats to start the season. The Team has a strong presence in Major League Baseball and has a client list that features Giancarlo Stanton, Nolan Arenado, Trevor Story, Jordan Montgomery and Javier Baez.

Alvarez now joins a long list of clients that have partnered with The Team. The 24-year-old catcher made his Major League debut with the Mets in 2022 and has been their everyday catcher ever since, though injuries have cost him some time on the field.

But the young catcher now reportedly has an agency to represent him in the future. Counting this season, he has four more years left of club control before hitting free agency.
