Prince Harry and Meghan Markle became the Duke and Duchess of Sussex upon tying the knot Saturday. With the couple's ceremony, many viewers will be looking to analyze every single detail, from Markle's dress to Harry's face when seeing his bride-to-be walk down the aisle. However, one aspect that should additionally be looked at is who speaks at the royal event, including Bishop Michael Curry.
Kensington Palace confirmed on May 12 that Harry and Markle invited Curry to give a speech at the service, whereas Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury officiated the ceremony as the couple exchanged their marriage vows. The 65-year-old is the first African-American to serve as the presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church.
"The love that has brought and will bind Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle together has its source and origin in God, and is the key to life and happiness," Curry said in a statement ahead of the ceremony. "And so we celebrate and pray for them today."
During his delivery, Curry made reference to Baptist minister and activist Martin Luther King, Jr. in his opener. "Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said: 'We must discover the power of love, the redemptive power of love. And when we discover that, we will be able to make of this old world a new world. Love is the only way.'" He used King's idea of "love" as a jumping point, continuing to suggest that "There's power in love. Do not underestimate it. Anyone who has ever fallen in love, knows what I mean."

Before speaking at the royal affair, Curry aimed to bring his own style to his address. "I have no idea, I'm just going to show up," Curry told CBS News. "I'll never forget my daddy told me when I was fairly new as a priest, he said just always be who you really are. Don't pretend to be someone else."
