Wolf's speech at the annual event was met with disdain from right-wing pundits and several journalists after she was accused of unfairly attacking White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
After Mika Brzezinski said that Sanders had been "humiliated on national television for her looks", Wolf replied on Twitter: "Why are you guys making this about Sarah's looks? I said she burns facts and uses the ash to create a *perfect* smoky eye. I complimented her eye makeup and her ingenuity of materials."

On Seth Meyers' show on Wednesday night, Wolf joked "Sarah Huckabee Sanders called me and she was like 'I loved it so much, I got every joke.'"
Meyers then brought up a tweet noting that Wolf's Correspondents' Dinner speech had become the most watched of the notorious events on C-SPAN's YouTube channel, beating Seth Meyers' 2011 appearance in just three days.
"So basically in what it took me seven years to do, you outdid me in three [days]," Meyers said.
"I think that means I'm the father of your children now," Wolf replied.
