Michigan Mom Arrieana Yednock Charged With Trying To Poison Boyfriend, Making Her Kids Sick Instead

A young mother in Michigan was recently arrested after allegedly bungling an attempt to poison her boyfriend's food. Rather than cause harm to him, the mother inadvertently made her children ill.

Police in Dearbon, Michigan, say that Arrieana Yednock, 21, was angry at her boyfriend when she decided to use an eye dropper to poison his orange juice, the Detroit News reports.

What Yednock apparently did not foresee was that her boyfriend — not knowing his juice had been spiked — might share the tainted beverage with her children. Unfortunately, he did just that, causing the youngsters to complain of upset stomachs.

Police did not disclose what type of substance was used to poison the drink, but ClickOnDetroit notes that authorities were called to Yednock's house in Dearborn in response to a "family trouble report."

A fire and rescue team checked the children out and it was determined that they were not injured. Yednock reportedly admitted to authorities that she had tinkered with the beverage.

She was arrested and charged with felony food tampering, reports the Detroit Free Press, and she was ultimately released on a $5,000 personal bond.

The incident occurred on Feb. 17, but only came to public attention on Friday, when the details were provided at a Dearborn Police Department press conference.
