Mike Lindell joined Donald Trump supporters in slamming Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson for attending the former president's hush money trial.

Johnson went in support of the former president, calling the court case a "sham" to keep Trump off the campaign trail. Trump was indicted in March 2023 on charges of falsifying business records relating to hush money paid to adult film star Stormy Daniels during his 2016 presidential campaign. Daniels had alleged she had an affair with Trump in 2006, which he has denied. Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges and said the case against him is politically motivated.

Now, Johnson is being criticized for showing up to the court at all, with his appearance being cast as "all performative" and "pathetic" by Trump supporters like Steve Bannon's War Room podcast CFO Grace Chong.

Lindell joined this chorus on Tuesday evening with an impassioned interview with Fox News.

He said: "This our guy has no passion for our country, he has no passion for our great real country, this guy has to go, I'm serious.

"This is disgusting—him up there, reading off some notes.

"If you have passion for our country or passion for what's going on, the travesties going on against our real president, you can speak from the heart and speak out and get the country behind you."

"The other" Steve Martin quipped back to attorney Ron Filipkowski's post on the matter, saying, "Hell hath no fury like a pillow salesman scorned."

Johnson told a press conference outside the court in Manhattan that he was "disgusted" at what is happening to Trump and to the "entire system of justice overall".

He said: "President Trump is a friend and I wanted to be here to support him. I'm here speaking with you outside because the court won't allow us to speak inside the building, that's just one of the many things that are wrong here.

"The crime that they are accusing President Trump of is falsification of business records.

"But I think everybody knows he is not the bookkeeper for his company. President Trump is innocent of these charges."

In the weeks leading up to that vote, Johnson met with Trump, who offered him praise despite opposition from some of the former president's most ardent supporters.

Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a frequent foil for Johnson, said he should instead be defunding the Department of Justice's (DOJ) Special Counsel Jack Smith, who has led the federal DOJ investigation against Trump for alleged election interference.

"The Speaker of the House should be defunding Jack Smith instead of watching Pres Trump be persecuted by a NY corrupt DA in a politically weaponized judge's courtroom. Pathetic," Greene wrote on X.

Trump, the presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee, is the first former president in U.S. history to stand trial in a criminal case.
